Warehouse Apartment
Conversion of a riverside warehouse to create a contemporary 3 bedroom home. The design celebrates the rich character of the existing building, the wonderful brickwork and cast iron, together with the views over the Thames.

Basement Extension
New basement adding guest room and bathroom, office, cinema room and children's play area. Bespoke built in furniture was designed to create ample, beautiful and functional storage. Artificially lit 'rooflights' belie the basement location.

Complete refurbishment and interior re-design of this grand old house to create an exceptionally elegant home. Every aspect of the design was bespoke and finely crafted using beautiful materials, fine upholstery and handcrafted furnishings.

This home was transformed with the addition of a glass corner kitchen extension, completely opening up the rear of the property to the garden. The rooms were opened up, to connect them to each other and to create lovely through views to the garden.

A large full width extension was added to open up the rear of this family home and bring in much needed light. A family room, kitchen and dining room were created, connected rather than open plan, enjoying different views of the garden.

Sofia designed our extension, refurbishment and loft conversion from initial concepts, expertly dealt with planning applications, called for tenders with specifications and drawings, awarded the contracts with our concurrence and supervised the work of the contractors during the construction period.

Sofia listened to our ideas and concerns with care and attention, developing a close working relationship with us to realise our hopes of a light, modern and open family space. The alterations blend in seamlessly with the old part of the house throughout, have added a new dimension to the property, and comfort and value. 

Sofia has a great eye for design. She creates modern clean designs. She really aims to maximise a building’s potential, and throughout the build itself consistently pushes for the perfect finish. If I were to build a new home from scratch I would want Sofia designing it.

About

Sofia is an architect working in London for the last 20 years.

Sofia started her career working on large cultural projects, such as concert halls, civic buildings, museums and theatres, which included the Unicorn Theatre in London and Wexford Opera House in Ireland. Working on these projects as project architect and lead consultant, Sofia gained invaluable experience not only on the widest breadth of architecture and design but also in team leadership and project management.

She later set up her own practice Fabric Space, dedicated to variety of work including public arts projects as well as residential and cityspace projects. Whilst Fabric Space continues its work, Sofia is now focusing her time on all aspects of high end, private residential projects – renovation, extension and new build.
