Residential Extension

Residential extension designed with exposed brickwork, minimal frame sliding glass doors and large rooflight to create a light and airy space. A high end, bespoke kitchen and built in oak shelves and storage bench complete the design.

Private Residence

Home renovation and extension to the ground and top floor to create a spacious 5 bedroom home. Glazed bays and roof lights were added to flood the rooms with light. The bespoke interior was designed in detail to make every room special.

Residential Extension

A beautifully crafted, timber clad enclosure, provides the additional space required by this family home. The complex but soft geometry of the volume gives interest to the interior and generates an ever changing play of light.

Pump House, Renforth Street

Residential Conversion

Conversion of a beautiful pump house building, a mezzanine was added to extend and enhance the living areas. Bespoke cast iron panels were designed and cast to make the mezzanine. These complement the industrial aesthetic of the building.

Private Residence

This home has been flooded with light, by the addition of large 'boxes' of glass. The original small, dark, north facing rooms, are now wonderfully spacious, sunlit and airy and the beautiful garden has been brought inside.

Camberwell House

Private Residential Extension

A side infill extension to this previously dark and narrow kitchen / dining room completely transformed the space by changing the proportions and flooding it with light. The design was kept very simple but finely detailed to give a sense of space.

New build house which takes advantage of its wonderful location and views. Light streams through the house both from the back and top, filtering through the semi open plan and double height spaces.

Sofia designed our extension, refurbishment and loft conversion from initial concepts, expertly dealt with planning applications, called for tenders with specifications and drawings, awarded the contracts with our concurrence and supervised the work of the contractors during the construction period.

Sofia listened to our ideas and concerns with care and attention, developing a close working relationship with us to realise our hopes of a light, modern and open family space. The alterations blend in seamlessly with the old part of the house throughout, have added a new dimension to the property, and comfort and value.

Sofia has a great eye for design. She creates modern clean designs. She really aims to maximise a building’s potential, and throughout the build itself consistently pushes for the perfect finish. If I were to build a new home from scratch I would want Sofia designing it.

About

Sofia is an architect working in London for the last 20 years.

Sofia started her career working on large cultural projects, such as concert halls, civic buildings, museums and theatres, which included the Unicorn Theatre in London and Wexford Opera House in Ireland. Working on these projects as project architect and lead consultant, Sofia gained invaluable experience not only on the widest breadth of architecture and design but also in team leadership and project management.

She later set up her own practice Fabric Space, dedicated to variety of work including public arts projects as well as residential and cityspace projects. Whilst Fabric Space continues its work, Sofia is now focusing her time on all aspects of high end, private residential projects – renovation, extension and new build.
